On Sunday 12th November at Kilgraston in Perthshire the North District Under 16 boys played their first Midlands league match. The squad of 12 had representatives from Granite City, Grammar FPs, and Gordonians and according to their coaches were a credit to the District and their respective clubs in terms of how they conducted themselves and the quality of their play. Coaches Alan Clark and Jim Wright say they are enthused by the team spirit across the whole squad, including those that were unavailable this weekend, and are looking forward to the next game away in Dundee against Dundee Wanderers on Friday 24th November.
Alan said there were some excellent aspects of play against a good Perthshire side and our boys came away with a 6-0 victory. The goals were scored by Eli (5) of Gordonians, and Alex of Granite City Wanderers. The defence and goalkeeper Alfie Main of Gordonians enjoyed their clean sheet.
The coaches wish to thank all at the District for supporting this venture and to the individual clubs and parents for all getting behind it. The boys really enjoyed the chance to play against their peers which we acknowledge is a challenge in Aberdeen at the moment.
The squad included seven boys from Gordonians:
Alfie, Struan, Owen, Juan, Peter, Eli, and Thijmen
