Jocelyn Roberts and myself were coaching the girls in sunny Edinburgh on Saturday so it was great to see the young talent. We had 6 girls in the team which finished 7th out of 8 districts.
We lost our 3 pool games but we made massive improvements as the day went on and then drew our 7/8 playoff match against south west with a great penalty corner goal by Erin Chapman (GCW/Albyn). Unfortunately Renee De Kock got injured so we missed out on her strength for the final match but Olivia Elrick was positive and willing to play in right back which was out of position for her and she did fantastically. Pippa Carry was the youngest player on the squad but you wouldn't have noticed as she was calm collected playing in defence and midfield throughout the day. Yasmin Wiseman was another calm head on the pitch and did exceptionally well in midfield throughout the day. Rhona Nesbitt was a solid defender throughout the day, which was essential as we were under pressure most of the games. Unfortunately Bukayomi Adejuwon didn't get a chance to show her skills as we didn't have a lot of attacking play but she made some great leads and put pressure on defenders with her exceptional speed.
Our Players were;
Yasmin Wiseman
Rhona Nesbitt
Olivia Elrick
Pippa Carry
Bukayomi Adejuwon
