Our Men's 1s today completed their season with a convincing victory. Two goals from Scott Thomson and one from Leon Wilkie gave us a 3-1 lead before the students reduced the margin. Half time 3-2. In the second half our men regained control of the game with goals from Sam Sharp & George Jones before Scott Thomson completed his hatrick. Full time score 6-2 for our 8th league win of the season.

Our men have finished 3rd in the National League behind the Champions Dunfermline Carnegie who will be promoted to the Premiership, and Kelburne who will play-off with Dundee Wanderers.

Gordonians 2s today surged past the 100-goal mark for the season in emphatic fashion, underlining their dominance with three league matches still to play. Sitting on an extraordinary tally of 111 goals scored and just 9 conceded, the team’s balance of attacking flair and defensive resilience has defined a remarkable campaign; played 13, won 13.

Following the narrow but hard-fought 1-0 victory over Granite City 2s in the previous match report, the squad has emphatically rediscovered its scoring touch. This past week has delivered a trio of outstanding performances, beginning with a commanding 9-0 home win against Ellon last Saturday. That momentum carried into a midweek fixture away to Granite City 2s, where Gordonians replicated the scoreline with another 9-0 success. The run continued at Rubislaw today, where Aberdeen Grammar were swept aside in a stunning 12-0 victory highlighted by an incredible seven-goal haul from 15 year old Eli Clark. The five other goals were scored by Adam Walker (3). Colin Gambles, and Craig Beattie. The total for the week was 30 goals scored and 0 conceded.

At the heart of this success has been defensive solidity, with goalkeeper Dale Kemp recording four consecutive clean sheets. His consistency has provided the platform for Gordonians’ attacking players to thrive.

The return of Stefan Jachnik and Kenny Steele from international indoor Masters duty has added further quality and experience to the side, while Struan Mackie has slotted seamlessly back in following his Scotland age-group commitments in Frankfurt. Few teams at this level can call upon such a blend of current and former internationalists.

Young talents continue to impress, with Eli Clark, Max Steele, Struan Mackie, Matthew Tomkins, and Juan Harcus Garcia all contributing significantly. Max Steele’s selfless running has been vital, particularly alongside Scotland Masters player Colin Gambles whose drive from midfield has set the tone. Versatile Adam Christie has also been pivotal throughout the campaign.

With three games remaining, Gordonians 2s will look to maintain momentum and finish an exceptional season on a high. (Our thanks to Alan Clark for this report)
