And 7 Gordonians played for Highland U-16s in the Girls tournament

2 wins and 2 draws earned the North Boys the title on goal difference, and undefeated.

Seven of our boys (pictured) were in the North U-16 Boys squad which came home from Strathallan, Perthshire with Districts Tournament winners' medals. It has been many years since North won this competition so this was a great achievement against the best players of their age in the country. The North boys were very ably assisted by their coaches Alan Clark and Jim Wright. Also travelling down were many of the boys' parents and Richard Freeland who was the umpire representing North.

Alan Clark said "They are a super bunch and a real credit to the District in terms of how they conduct themselves and the style of hockey they play. There is a real sense of camaraderie amongst the group, putting all club loyalties aside, and that team spirit is what stands out more than anything."

The Scottish Hockey website article described North's games as follows:
South were leading 2-1 before two late goals by Alex Thomson (GCW) earned North a win in their first game. Owen Wright (Gordonians) had scored North's first goal.
North hit six against Highland including a hatrick by Alex Thomson and goals by Eli Clark (Gordonians), Nathan Lawson (GCW), Peter Temple (GCW)
East scored a penalty flick but North were 2-1 ahead at half-time thanks to goals by Eli Clark (Gordonians) and Alex Thomson (GCW) but East scored a late equaliser,
Both teams had a chance of winning the tournament and with 90 seconds remaining the trophy was going to the Midlands who were leading 2-1. However Finn Strachan's cross from inside the circle was deflected in by a defender to spark huge celebrations amongst the travelling support from Aberdeen. A 2-2 draw meant that North won the tournament.

HIGHLAND U-16 GIRLS included seven of our members: Elsa Han, Olivia Estachy, Katherine McCoig, Willow Hyland, Abby Cochrane, Sophia Jones, and Grace Scott. Abby scored against Midlands, and Katherine scored against East however Highland lost all four games.
