A.J.Innes, our long serving Club Secretary, also played cricket for Gordonians from 1961 to 1987. He took over 500 wickets as a bowler and was pretty useful with the bat scoring several 80s and 90s and one century! Alan has been a member of our hockey club since 1962. He played 740 !! first team games including 9 seasons as Captain, and retired from playing in 1984. Alan's proudest achievement was captaining the 1sts to National League 2 and 3 Championships in successive seasons (1978/79,1979/80) to take them to NL1. AJ has been Club Secretary in two terms since 1968 which together cover 35 years ! He has been convenor of our Youth Committee since its inception, and has organised 5 very successful annual tours to Holland for our U-18s. It is unlikely that any hockey club in Scotland has ever had a more dedicated and loyal servant. |
We are very grateful for the long-term support of Aberdeen Asset Management as the main club sponsors. Aberdeen Asset Management PLC is an international investment management group, managing assets for both institutions and private individuals from offices around the world.
