Kenny Steele - Veteran Striker

Postby Rat » Fri Nov 07, 2008 2:07 pm

Straight from the SHU website:

"It was good to see veteran striker Kenny Steele back on hat-trick form for the northerners against Hillhead last weekend, but it will take more than Steele`s magic to cause an upset at Auchenhowie."

Brilliant!!!

We don't need the "magic of Steel" when we've got the ability of 24 year old free range M & S in the squad this week!!!

It is the time of year for the Goose to flourish. And not just any Goose....a 24 year old (I know Pitto - 24!!!) mature, free range Goose.

And straight from the Grammar website after the 4ths team match earlier in the season... "God only knows how the portly figure of Bernie Morrison or Derek Johnson didn’t score!"

Thanks to Mowser for spotting that one.

Very good spot. Keep them coming. Although we tend not to feature on the SHU website at all.

Gary - I assume you will be up for the festivities down at the Club on Saturday? I know Pitto is fully expecting you to attend.

Just spotted Fury when I was out for my lunch. He had his earphones in and he looked absolutely raging.

I have fans stopping me on the street all the time, but I've adopted the Ringo Starr approach and now just ignore them.

I'm not sure if the memory of Friday night/Saturday morning will have left me in time. It might have just been the wine and beer/spirits will be ok. I could check just to make sure.

It would appear that Bernie has upset someone at Grammar in a previous life. After our second game against them at the weekend they've posted this in their match report...

"Bad beard of the day goes to Gordonians Bernie, much that he has no facial hair but he certainly moans more than “tashed “Willie Miller on the pitch."

I had not seen the Grammar report on our game before but am absolutely thrilled at being compared to Wille Miller! They do seem to get upset when a really veteran - or is it vintage - striker (Kenny is but a youngster!!) celebrates when scoring against them. The fact that this has occurred regularly for nigh on 40 years now merely adds to my enjoyment.
