Where has the Gordonians’ youth pathway taken these boys from 2014 ?

This is a photo of our U-15 Boys team in 2014.

In the four years since then, these boys have made the most of the opportunities and coaching provided to them by the club:

TEN of them played and were coached on our Holland tours in 2015 and 2016.

Most of them gained their first experience of senior hockey playing for our 5ths on Sundays alongside three or four experienced players.

FOUR are now in our Men’s 1st team squad, along with six more not in the photo who also came through our youth section at different times. That’s 10 in total, which is the largest quota of 1st team members we have produced from within the club for many years.

SIX now play in our Men’s 2nds/3rds/4ths along with many others who came through the youth section.

Between them the boys in that photo have scored 24 goals for the Club this season and the two goalies have probably saved just as many.

This weekend, three boys from that 2014 team PLAYED FOR SCOTLAND U-18 BOYS in matches v WALES U18s in Glasgow. They are Jack Rathbone (GK), Sam Hill, and Chris Moon.

Fri 30 Mar: Scotland U18s 4 - Wales U18s 4 (Sam & Chris played)

Sun 01 Apr: Scotland U18s 5 – Wales U18s 2 (Jack was in goal)
