After a winter almost as long as the wait for the next season of GOT, all our teams return to action this weekend in national and district league fixtures:

Our Ladies 1sts had a difficult local derby against our cousins at Granite City last weekend and managed to secure the win thanks to a goal from Sophie Hill in her debut season. Sophie is another product of the talented Hill Hockey Academy and in scoring her first goal ever for the 1st XI in a National League game she will have taken the shine of the return of travelling Tom a little bit! Here's hoping she can add to her goal scoring tally this weekend.

Our Men's 1sts had a difficult double header weekend with some players missing and against difficult opposition but managed to secure all 6 points from the weekend and celebrated by extra plyo work and followed by a post-training yoga recovery session.....things have certainly changed from our post-training recovery session at the College Bar when I was a lad! This weekend they face a very tough away fixture against fellow promotion / title hopefuls Perthshire and have a somewhat depleted side due to stag commitments.

Locally the L2 face a trip up to Inverness the morning after the Calcutta Cup which will be a difficult trip; the Ladies 3rds and Mens 4ths both welcome the respective Aberdeen Uni 4 XIs to Pelican Park. The league topping Men's 3rds dust down their title challenge against GCW2 the result of which could play a factor in the title race decision. The developing Mens' 5ths travel south to Porty to take on Aberdeenshire South and last but not least, the ever-changing M2 welcome Highland 2 down from Inverness.

Saturday 3rd March: Gin Tasting Event @ Seafield club (over 18s only) - friends and family welcome, £20pp (see Alex Walker for more info, a new social event to our calendar and promises to be a great night)

Saturday 10th March: 1st XI Supporters day @ Countesswells (mini club day event, come and support our L1 and M1 and Rugby M1)

Saturday 24th March: Super Saturday @ Countesswells (RGC + GHC + GRFC + Gordonians Bones, Drat & Ping Pang Pong clubs all playing)
